We experimented on some of the main problems in Ladakh which slow down the children’s attraction toward literature, books.

  • Lake of books offers and access
  • Lake of literature in their mother language
  • Lake of reading people models

Earlier, Ladakh has a very unique culture of oral narration of old-saga talking about the kings of Ladakh (Gyalam Kesar), stories talking about some old traditional practices still ongoing in Ladakh, for people who come together every evening to have this storytelling session.

But nowadays, the drastic change of lifestyle due to the development in Ladakh brought a huge amount of change in the social structure and practices. Nowadays social and face-to-face interaction is low and more of virtual interactions, which eventually replace the storytelling session with all the virtual platforms like youtube, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp
